The Stunning Renovation of The Fairmont Hotel in Washington
The luxury Fairmont Hotel is one of the many hotels in USA’s capital that were renovated in anticipation of January’s inauguration. The 413 room hotel underwent a $27 million two-part renovation. Phase one of the refurbishment involved re-doing all the guest rooms including those on the Fairmont Gold Floor. The executive forum amphitheater was converted into the 2,900 square-foot Kennedy Ballroom. The room can accommodate 300 people. New York-based Wimberly Interiors was in charge of the renovation. Guestrooms no longer have typical desks. Instead, the king-bedded rooms have a chaise and a round table that doubles as a dining spot or a flexible working space. There are now seven specialty suites rather than five. The hotel has an upgraded high speed internet system.Rooms on the Gold Floor have a built-in luggage bench, tea station and 49-inch television set.
